Juego de tronos ha sido la gran triunfadora de la 67ª entrega de premios más prestigiosos de la televisión, otorgados por la Academia de Televisión de las Artes y las Ciencias, con 12 estatuillas. Pero no ha sido la única sorpresa de una noche plagada de emotivos discursos y sorprendentes apariciones.
Por ejemplo, Viola Davis se ha convertido en la primera mujer afroamericana en ganar el Emmy a mejor actriz principal en una serie dramática por su papel de la dura abogada Annalise Keating en Cómo defender a un asesino (How to Get Away With Murder). Tras recibir la estatuilla, la intérprete ha comenzado un emotivo discurso: "La única cosa que separa a las mujeres de color de cualquier otra persona es la oportunidad. No se puede ganar un Emmy por papeles que simplemente no existen".
Jon Hamm ha protagonizado otro de los momentos más memorables de la noche al recibir el galardón a mejor actor en una serie dramática por su papel de Don Draper en la ya concluida Mad Men. Sin embargo, la ficción de AMC no consiguió la estatuilla a la mejor serie dramática, dado que esta fue a parar a las manos de Juego de tronos.
