Los Premios DICE 2016, que premian a los mejores videojuegos del año, se entregarán el próximo 18 de febrero en una ceremonia en Las Vegas. En su decimonovena edición, 'The Witcher 3' y 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' encabezan la lista de nominaciones, con ocho cada uno.
La Academia de Artes y Ciencias Interactivas estadounidense ha dado a conocer la lista completa de candidatos a las 22 categorías existentes de los Premios DICE. Los dos títulos con más opciones de conseguir premio optan a los más importantes, como son el de ‘Mejor juego del año’ y el de ‘Mejor dirección’. Dos galardones deseados por los que también competirá uno de los videojuegos con más éxito de 2015, ‘Fallout 4’, que tiene cinco nominaciones.
‘Ori and the Blind Forest’ cuenta con seis nominaciones, mientras que 'Her Story', 'The Order: 1886' y 'Star Wars: Battlefront' se quedan con cuatro nominaciones cada uno.
Además de los premios a mejor juego de acción, aventuras, juego para móviles, banda sonora o personaje -así hasta llegar a 22 categorías-, también se homenajeará al recién fallecido Satoru Iwata. El expresidente de Nintendo recibirá póstumamente el Premio por su Trayectoria.
Iwata se une así a un exclusivo club con solo cinco miembros: Bing Gordon, fundador de EA; Doug Lowenstein, fundador de Entertainment Software Association; Ken Kutaragi, expresidente de PlayStation; Minoru Arakawa, expresidente de la división de Nintendo en Estados Unidos; y Howard Lincoln, expresidente de la división de Nintendo en Estados Unidos.
También el creador de Metal Gear, Hideo Kojima, será incluido en el Salón de la Fama de los Premios DICE. El humorista Pete Holmes repite un año más como presentador de la gala.
