Atmel(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML), a global leader in the developmentand fabrication of advanced semiconductor solutions, and iBiquity Digital,the sole developer of digital HD Radio(TM) technology, announced today thatiBiquity Digital has certified Atmel's T4260 RF tuner chip for use inautomotive and home HD Radio receivers.
The T4260 is a complete front-end solution for both AM and FM reception.
It is used to tune the radio and converts the signal into a frequency thatthe receiver can decode. The integrated fast fractional PLL allows lockingtimes of less than 1 ms. The flexible IF output frequency enables designersto adapt the IC to various customers needs.
