Dance Festival Extrema Outdoor Goes to Belgium

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands, February 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On August 13th Belgium will experience its first edition of the Extrema Outdoor festival. After the first sold out Norwegian Extrema Outdoor edition and the well known Extrema Outdoor festivals in The Netherlands, Dutch dance promoter Extrema goes international and wants to expand to other European countries.

Extrema is one of the pioneers in the Dutch house music scene. Extrema Outdoor soon became one of the most important dance festivals in Holland, featuring the world's most famous dance artist like Sven Vath, Sasha, John Digweed, A-trak, Richie Hawtin, Swedish House Mafia, Crookers and Jeff Mills.

In 2010 Extrema spread its wings internationally when the first sold out Extrema Outdoor Norway took place. Besides Norway, Belgium and The Netherlands Extrema is exploring the possibilities for further international expansion in other European countries and abroad in 2012.

Extrema Outdoor Belgium will take place on the recreational beach of Kelchterhoef in Houthalen-Helchteren, near Hasselt. Extrema festivals are known for their beautiful wetland locations, sets, performances and extended music programs. Coming editions will also include theatre, art installations and live music.

Creative people from all over the world are invited to participate in Extrema events. Everyone is welcome to support the Extrema family. People with good ideas or willing to cooperate can register online for the festival. Annually hundreds of volunteers help turning the festivals into a success.

Theme

Each year Extrema comes up with a different theme. 2011's theme is 'Sharing Secrets'. Secrets are exciting and adventurous. Shared secrets intensify the common feeling. It's popular to share secrets nowadays as people no longer have personal diaries but public weblogs instead. On social media we share more than what we are or do. During the festivals the theme is recognisable in theatre, artwork, art installations and other performances.
