Saxo Bank Doubles Down on Sponsorship of Denmark's Motorsport Brothers

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, January 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Saxo Bank, the online multi-asset trading and investment specialist, today announces a new sponsorship of Lasse Sorensen, winner of the 2014 French F4 Championship, as well as its continued support of older brother and GP2 driver, Marco Sorensen.

Lasse, 18, is regarded as the emerging talent in Danish motor racing and is Manor MP Motorsport's second signing for its Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 team.

Saxo Bank has sponsored Marco Sorensen since 2014 and announced on Wednesday that it would continue to support Marco until at least the end of 2015. Marco switched to GP2 from Formula Renault 3.5 Series mid last season and achieved his maiden GP2 victory in October 2014.

Lars Seier Christensen, co-CEO and co-founder, Saxo Bank A/S said:

"We are delighted to be supporting the brothers of future Danish sporting success. Marco is the model candidate to have our backing. He is determined and has the discipline and talent to reach his ambitious goals and can inspire and enrich a whole generation. Lasse has fantastic potential and has shown the skill and ambition to climb to the top of motor racing. We are privileged to help both of them seize every opportunity that arises in the sport.

"At the heart of Saxo Bank is a passionate commitment to empowering opportunities. We have a long tradition of supporting Danish talent with international ambitions. Sponsoring sports such as motor racing and cycling not only gives us marketing exposure but an opportunity to offer clients something very special. We wish Marco and Lasse all the best for the 2015 season and are looking forward to following the brothers with our clients."

Lasse Sorensen said, "To have an organization such as Saxo Bank put its faith in me is fantastic. At my age, I need a support network that allows me to achieve my ambitious goals and Saxo Bank is perfectly placed to do that. I would like to thank the bank for its support and I look forward to a tremendous journey ahead."

These new sponsorship packages mark a continuation of Saxo Bank's allegiance with the sporting world. The bank entered a one-year business partnership with Lotus F1 team in 2014 and it has sponsored the UCI ProTour cycling team Tinkoff-Saxo and Riis Cycling (now Tinkoff Sport) since 2008.
