Cava consolidated its domestic and international markets during 2013

During 2013, a tough year for overall consumption and specifically for the wine industry, cava producers were able to keep their sales alive both domestically and abroad.

Total sales saw a 0.77% drop, but were still in the volume of the best years, with 241.3 million bottles sold.

At a press conference announcing the results of last year campaign, the chairman of the Cava Regulatory Board, Pere Bonet, assessed 2013 data and highlighted that in a difficult year, after seven tough years, "cava producers were able to consolidate the success of the past, both in volume and in shipments".
