The Cava Regulatory Board gathered yesterday in Madrid more than 750 wine professionals, including catering professionals, sommeliers, wine shops representatives, bloggers and journalists, at Pedro Larumbe restaurant in the Cava Premium Show. The goal of this gathering was to introduce Reserva and Gran Reserva cavas among wine prescriptors.

The Cava Premium Show was opened by Pedro Bonet, chairman of the Cava Regulatory Board, Jaume Gramona, chairman of the Cava Institute, and Pere Guilera, president of PimeCava. Bonet emphasized the importance of premium cavas for this industry as they provide "a greater added value to the industry, through the cava brand prestige, and to wine producers who need that added value to keep growing". In addition, Bonet said that without the added value "there is no possibility of investing in new technologies and marketing to conquer international markets, as they are really competitive". The chairman of the Cava Regulatory Board added that premium cavas "are essential for the future of cava".
