Wine experts committed to innovation and research to improvesparkling wine

More than 120 specialists from different countries have gathered at the 33rd International Congress on Cava to discuss the scientific research applied to sparkling wines. The meeting, organized by the Cava Regulatory Board and the Rovira I Virgili University, was held this morning at the Cofradia del Cava headquarters.

The event was opened by Josep Antón Ferré, president of the Rovira i Virgili University, and Pierre-Louis Teissedre, coordinator of the Oenoviti international network. It also included relevant experts such as Bertrand Robillard, Fernando Zamora, José M. Guillamón, Gemma Beltrán, Anna Puig-Pujol, Montse Riu, Joan Miquel Canals, Andrea Curioni, Marco Bravi, Delphine Goffette and Michel Valade. The chairman of the Cava Regulatory Board closed an event that already is a reference for the world of cava.

The congress, which stood out for its high technical level, placed cavas at the centre of the scientific universe in oenology and vine growing. No doubt it was the right bid by the Cava Regulatory Board.
