El gran hotel Budapest de Wes Anderson lidera la lista de los premios BAFTA de la Academia Británica de las Artes Cinematográficas y de la Televisión, con 11 nominaciones. Seguida de cerca por Birdman, que compite por 10 galardones.
En segunda posición, junto con la cinta protagonizada por Michael Keaton, se sitúa La teoría del todo de James Marsh. Mientras que el nuevo trabajo de Benedict Cumberbatch y Keira Knightley, The Imitation Game, se hace con el tercer puesto con 9 nominaciones.
Momentos de una vida (Boyhood) y Whiplash cuentan con 5 nominaciones cada una, seguidas por Mr. Turner, Interstellar y Nightcrawler que optan a cuatro galardones.
Cabe destacar que compiten por el premio a la mejor película, Birdman, Momentos de una vida, El gran hotel Budapest, The Imitation Game y La teoría del todo.
