PARIS, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Park4U(TM), the highly successful automatic parking system created by Valeo, was awarded yesterday the prestigious automotive industry 2008 PACE Award in the Product Europe category. The award, co-sponsored by Automotive News, Microsoft, SAP and the Transportation Research Center (TRC), was presented to Valeo at a ceremony held in conjunction with the Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress in Detroit.

Intuitive and easy to use, Park4U(TM) offers comfortable and safe parking maneuvers for the driver. It automatically steers the vehicle into the parking slot in a matter of seconds. Drivers can take their hands off the wheel, but keep their eyes on the road as they control the braking and acceleration of the operation at any time.
By 2010, sixteen models will be equipped with the Valeo system. Park4U(TM) currently equips the Volkswagen Touran, CrossTouran, Tiguan, Passat and Passat Variant in Europe. The next cars featuring the system will be the Volkswagen Passat Coupe and the new Skoda Superb.
This is Valeo's fourth consecutive PACE award. Valeo also received PACE Awards in 2007 for Blind Spot Detection System, 2006 for the StARS micro-hybrid system and in 2005 for the LaneVue(TM) system.
